Cuando me enfrento a una lámina, siempre trato de representar aquello que más me gusta, que me inspira, que me motiva y que ha sido importante en mi vida de una manera u otra, conformando el estilo de mi obra. Como bien se puede apreciar en mis ilustraciones, soy un amante del género fantástico, de la literatura de terror, de los cómics y los videojuegos, los cuales también intervienen mucho a la hora de realizar mis trabajos.
Personalmente creo que para que una obra sea “buena” no es sólo cuestión de tener una buena técnica y un buen manejo de las herramientas, sino también disfrutar con su elaboración, por lo que escoger temas que motiven a uno mismo es muy importante ya que si lo que se va a tratar no te inspira o te disgusta, la obra va a tender a ser fría, impersonal y con un acabado incompleto, es decir, el artista no empleará toda su capacidad a la hora de la resolución de la obra.
En cuestiones formales, suelo usar técnicas húmedas tales como: la tinta y la acuarela, los cuales son mis materiales favoritos ya que me resultan bastante fáciles y cómodos a la hora de trabajar con ellos y desde mi perspectiva aportan mayor fluidez a mis trabajos; el entramado, empleando bolígrafos de punta fina de gel para ello, jugando así con el claroscuro y el lápiz, con el cuál elaboro la base de todos mis trabajos-sin excepción- ya que me permite dar una forma previa y corregir los fallos que considere hasta que quede a mi gusto. Sin embargo, no siempre suelo trabajar con técnicas tradicionales ya que desde hace algún tiempo llevo experimentando ,perfilando y perfeccionando la técnica digital, que desde mi perspectiva me ayuda a que mis ilustraciones tengan un mayor acercamiento y semejanza con esas influencias de cómics y videojuegos, permitiendo así que mis ilustraciones tengan una mayor variedad en su conjunto.


When I start a new work, I always try to represent those things that I like, what inspires and motivates me and what has been important in my life in one way or another. As it can be appreciated in my draws and paintings, I love the fantastic genre, horror literature, comics and videogames. All previously mentioned plays an important role and has a great influence in my works.
In my opinion, good techniques and an appropriate tool management are not only the keys to achieve a good work but enjoy with its creation is also a significant factor. That is the reason why choosing a motivating theme or subject to draw and paint is very important. Thus, choosing a theme which dislikes the author or which is not interesting for him/her leads to a cold, impersonal and uncompleted work as the author, as a consequence of lack of motivation, would not make his/her best in the final steps towards its completion.
Regarding formal issues, I usually use wet-in-wet techniques such as watercolor and ink as working with them is easy and they give the work fluidity and movement. I use ink fine point gel pens and pencils to draw lines, which compounds my works, to play with the chiaroscuro. Working with pencils is the basis of all my works with no exception since I can correct mistakes or modify the aspect that can be improved. I usually make several modifications until I feel I have made a good job. Although I used to use traditional techniques, since a while I have been testing and experimenting with new ones. I am focused on improving my proficiency and ability in digital techniques. These techniques contribute to bring my works closer to those comics and videogames influences mentioned above and provide them a wide range of details, effect and textures.
